The World Languages curriculum presents a rigorous and balanced program in reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language. We encourage students to be excellent communicators and lifelong learners.
The emphasis for Spanish is for students to develop a "feel" for Spanish by developing active listening skills, learning basic grammatical structure, vocabulary, and communication skills. At this level, students are exposed to Spanish-speaking cultures and civilizations. Students are expected to follow written and oral directions in Spanish.
